When it comes to conceiving a child, people will do anything and everything they physically can in order to bring new life into the world. Although there are technologies and techniques that have been discovered that can increase your chances of conception, some people are simply unable to do so. That is where the surrogate comes into play. While it may sound like a good idea at the time, are you mentally focused enough to allow someone else to have your child?

Confidence of Mind - Many people don't have a problem with allowing a surrogate to carry their child. They are more enamored with having the child regardless of who carries it to term or who's sperm is used. It is the fact that they are going to be parents of a baby child and are looking forward to raising him or her as best they can. Whether you are using an egg or a sperm donation, the surrogate will play a pivotal role in the child's development.

Pure Family Tree? - Some people are unable to find comfort in using a surrogate parent. Too many variables can play in effect. This is inclusive of the fact that many people find bloodlines to be vital to continuation of the family tree. In reality, it is next to impossible to guarantee that a bloodline is pure dating back centuries without extensive DNA testing done on family remains. Adultery is a very old practice and to be guaranteed that you are related to a certain family is extremely difficult to prove. Be Confident in Your Decision - You need to be absolutely positive that you are mentally focused when it comes to having a surrogate. Children are more observant than you may realize and could feel as though they don't measure up in your eyes. This could cause a variety of mental repercussions throughout the child's development. You don't want to raise a child to immediately be faced with such mental baggage. Your own mental problems with the situation shouldn't become his or her burdens later on.

Depending on the situations surrounding using the surrogate parent, a wide variety of mental complications could develop among everyone involved. This has to be a solid decision that is being made and not because you want to make your spouse happy. Be sure you are doing the right thing for yourself before bringing a child into the world.
